Welcome to Dori's mostly clay-related ramblings. Questions, comments and verbal abuses to be left behind the door (i.e. below the posts).

Spring, where are you?

Veneers and canes

I think I got it! Or at least I'm getting there. My new African/tribal inspired pieces I've been waiting to be born for so long :)). I was browsing through my "veneers" and sheets and I found this:

And this:

And here you go:

Honestly, I don't like it at all. Or maybe I'll just need to get used to it?

I really like this one, however (the brown-cream one):

And some miscellanea:

Some random canes I've made lately:

And some before and after photos (before adding mica):

Fashion Feature - LikeFreja

Welcome to my new experimental series: Fashion Feature, in which I introduce artists and crafters and their works through fashion.

My second guest is Freja from LikeFreja. She's a knitter and crocheter, whose colorful world will surely captivate you. Her favorite material is virgin wool. I especially like her chunky cowls and her knitted jewelry.

Since winter is here again, let's start with hats, scarves and cowls. My absolute favorite is the white hat with the snowflake - I love wearing it on snowy days. This Easter you could also wear the light yellow hat with the pom-pom, and look like a cute Easter chick ;)

Hopefully warmer weather is on its way soon, and that is when these pretty lace-knit scarves come in handy:

And when real spring and summer finally arrive, you can choose from Freja's many colorful and neon jewelry pieces: necklaces, headbands, bracelets and more:

Fashion Feature - EfZin Creations

Welcome to my new experimental series: Fashion Feature. I would like to introduce artists and crafters and their works through fashion.

My first guest is Zina from Greece. Her brand is EfZin Creations (meaning: "to live well") - she makes delightful jewelry: necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and brooches. Her main materials are lava beads, felted beads, buttons and beads that she makes by wrapping colorful thread on base beads.

First let's start with something post-winter. It's still very cold throughout Europe, and I love the warmth and softness of these felt pieces - the perfect accessory for a simple wool dress. They make a statement in and of themselves, and they really make an otherwise boring outfit pop.

To view EfZin's felt jewelry click on this beautiful necklace:

As we move towards spring and warmer weather hopefully, more delicate colors appear on our palette. Powdery pink, coral, gentle blues - for the tenderest feminine touch.

For the more delicate pieces, click on this pendant necklace:

Pops of color, strong emerald, turquoise, hot pink, warm red - another look for spring.

And finally, summer arrives, bringing with it a rainbow of colors. Fun, lightweight, and full of summery color combos.

If this sample of Zina's work has raised your interest, make sure to visit her shop, her blog and her Facebook page. :)

Reds

And I can't refrain from bragging a little. This is the feedback I received from Christina, a fellow creator:
"It's unbelievable how fast it was delivered to me, I simply love this mosaic effect on the pendant and I'm glad to have my first "Dori original" in my collection :) I'll be back, highly recommended seller!" Thank you, Christina :)
